SUMMER
INSTITUTE IN INTERDISCIPLINARY From June 19 through July 1, the College of Visual Arts and Designat the University of North Texas will offer a two-week summer institute in interdisciplinary inquiry-based approaches to arts education. Institute content will focus on related concepts and ideas integrated in visual arts, dance, drama, and music that contribute to the creation, understanding, and appreciation of the arts. The Arts Education Institute will include discussions and workshops as well as field trips to museums and arts events in the Dallas and Fort Worth area. Designed for arts specialists, classroom teachers, museum educators, docents, school administrators, and graduate students, the Institute will be led by Dr. Connie Newton, associate professor of art education at UNT. Guest speakers include Dr. Lorenzo Garcia and Dr. Mary Lynn Smith. Either
graduate credit or continuing education credit (on a space available
basis) may be earned for attending the Arts Institute.

Graduate tuition for three hours for Texas residents is $433, for
out-of-state or foreign tuition the fee is $958.
Fees for continuing education credit are $600. Housing for Arts Institute participants is available on the campus of the University of North Texas or in nearby hotels.
