Guest Speaker, Kristen E. Stewart, Curator of Costume & Textiles at the Valentine Museum

Kristen E. Stewart, the Nathalie L. Klaus Curator of Costume and Textiles at the Valentine Museum in Richmond, VA will be speaking to students in AEAH 4848: Senior Seminar and any other interested parties on Monday, 25 September, at 2pm in ART 223.

Prior to her role at the Valentine, Stewart held positions in the Department of Textile Arts of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco and the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where she served as a contributing author to Amelia Peck, ed., Interwoven Globe: The Worldwide Textile Trade, 1500-1800 (New York and New Haven: Metropolitan Museum of Art distributed by Yale University Press, 2013).

In her presentation, Stewart will be discussing her career trajectory before working in a more hands-on manner with select classes in the Texas Fashion Collection.
