UNT alumni & students to speak at Society for Photographic Education Conference

SPE logoThe South Central chapter of the Society for Photographic Education will hold a conference on October 13-15, 2017 at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. This year's conference, "This, That, or the Other" will investigate and discuss how the current vernacular of imagery is ever-changing in the 21st century.

UNT College of Visual Arts & Design is delighted to announce that of the presenters at this conference, four graduate alumni and two current MFA students will be giving talks at the conference:

  • Presentation: Ghost Images in an Archive: A Case Study of Dr. Walter Spink's Ajanta Photographs by Betsy Williamson
  • Panel Talk: Shifting Grounds, with panelists Jeremiah Ariaz, Amanda Breitbach, and Peter Hiatt
  • Panel Talk: I've Graduated...Now What? The Ins and Outs of Graduate School, with participants Kendra Smith, Blake Weld, Jessica Just, and Josh Dryk
  • Presentation: The Post Documentary: Connecting Social Awareness with Art in the Digital Age by Dr. Lupita Murillo Tinnen
  • Workshop: Body Positive with Rachel Rushing and Kristina Smith
