UNT CVAD welcomes Brooks Oliver as a Lecturer in Ceramics

Brooks Oliver, Lecturer in Ceramics at UNT CVAD this fallUNT College of Visual Arts & Design is pleased to announce that Brooks Oliver will be joining us this fall as a Lecturer in Ceramics.

A native of Dallas, Mr. Oliver received his BFA from Southern Methodist University and his MFA from Penn State. He has also been a Fellow at the internationally renowned Archie Bay Foundation in Helena, Montana.

Most recently, he has been teaching with West Virginia University's Ceramics program in Jingdezhen, China. This year, Mr. Oliver was awarded the distinction of being named a 2017 Emerging Artist by the National Council of the Education of the Ceramic Arts.

Not only will Mr. Oliver bring to CVAD his expertise in the traditional techniques of throwing, hand building, and slip casting, he will also be sharing with us his mastery of some of the newest computer driven innovations in art making including CAD prototyping, CNC milling, and laser cutting.
