UNT CVAD welcomes Gabrielle Duggan as a Visiting Assistant Professor in Fibers
UNT College of Visual Arts & Design is pleased to announce that Gabrielle Duggan will be joining us this fall as a Visiting Assistant Professor in Fibers.
Ms. Duggan has a Masters of Art and Design from North Carolina State University, a Bachelor of Science from Buffalo State College, SUNY, and an Associate Degree in Applied Science from the Fashion Institute of Technology, SUNY.
Ms. Duggan is currently an Assistant Professor of the Practice at the College of Design at North Carolina State University. Prior to this appointment, Ms. Duggan was a Visiting Lecturer at the Ernest G. Welch School of Art and Design at Georgia State University. She has also conducted workshops in Fibers at North Carolina State University, East Carolina University, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Detroit, and the Contemporary Art Museum of Raleigh, North Carolina.
Ms. Duggan has an extraordinarily active exhibition record. Besides being represented by AH Arts in New York City, Ms. Duggan's studio research has been supported by Fellowship (Salem Art Works, NY) and residencies (the Knight Foundation at Ponyride in Detroit; Musk Ox Farm, AK; Indie Grits Film festival, SC; Governor's Island, NY; Artspace, NC), and grant and exhibition opportunities (Art on the Atlanta Beltline; North Carolina Arts Council; the City of Raleigh). Recent artistic collaborations include a performed installation with musician Nic Jenkins (Indie Grits, SC), a 48-hour installation with eight artists (Flanders Gallery, NC), and a multimedia opera with artist Neill Prewitt which has been screened and performed internationally.
