UNT CVAD Welcomes Shawn Lopez as Manager of Digital Fab Lab
The College of Visual Arts & Design is pleased to announce that Shawn Lopez will join us this fall as the new manager of the Digital Fabrication Lab.
Shawn is a seasoned creative professional with a depth of knowledge and a wide range of experience in a variety of media. With a storied career in the creative industry, Shawn has had experience as a screen printer, webmaster, communications director, and a graphic designer. He earned a BFA from Bowling Green State University, majoring in Metalsmithing and Jewelry Design, and continued at Indiana University where he earned his MFA.
While using traditional materials and methods, Shawn incorporates digital processes into his workflow while exploring 3D printing techniques and virtual environments. His work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally, and has been showcased in publications such as 1000 Steampunk Creations, Metalsmith magazine, and the recently released book To the Point, an illustrated examination of notable brooch mechanisms, written and edited by Daniela Malev.
