Studio Art Portfolio Reviews - Due by October 15th!
Do you want to major in Studio Art? If so, you need to apply for and be accepted to a concentration through the Portfolio Review Process.
Portfolios are due October 15! No late portfolios will be accepted.
- When can I apply?
UNT students must have completed 9 hours post-foundations* Studio Art courses and one of the 2000-level or above courses in the concentration you wish to pursue with a “B” or better grade. For instance, if you want to review for Ceramics, you need to have taken and completed and earned a B or above in a Ceramics course. If you want to review for both Ceramics and Photography, you need to have taken and completed and earned a B or above in both Ceramics and Photography. See due dates for application below.
* Foundations courses are the entry-level courses all art students must take: Drawing I, Drawing II, Design I, Design II.
- When will I be notified of acceptance?
You will receive notification within one month of applying (Fall- Nov. 15 / Spring- April 15). Once you confirm acceptance, you will receive notification of next steps and a degree plan.
- Can I apply to more than one area?
Yes. You must apply separately to each area. If you are accepted to more than one area, you will be asked to confirm one area.
- What is the minimum GPA for acceptance?
You must have a GPA of 2.75 or above.
- What if I am not a UNT student?
Acceptance into the concentration does not constitute acceptance to UNT. You must be accepted into UNT to pursue a BFA at UNT. But, you absolutely may submit your portfolio in advance of your application and acceptance to the university.
- What if I don’t pass entry review?
You will receive feedback on your portfolio and you may reapply.
