Call for Entry: Fort Worth Kroger Murals
The Arts Council of Fort Worth, in partnership with Kroger Company, invites professional artists to submit qualifications for two indoor mural projects for new Kroger stores in north Fort Worth. The new stores, located at 1653 Basswood Boulevard and 4750 West Bailey Boswell Road will open to the public in early November and December 2016, respectively.
Prominently displayed in interior public gathering areas as part of the Kroger Company's commitment to involving artists in beautifying new stores in Fort Worth, the murals are expected to celebrate the spirit of community and the unique identity of the neighborhood and its surroundings. The murals will measure approximately 18' wide by 5' high and be fabricated on portable panels of a durable material that can be attached directly to the wall.
Two artists (one selected for each store) will be awarded a budget of $10,000.00 to cover the artist's fee and all costs associated with the design process, fabrication, delivery to the store, and supervision of installation by the store's general contractor.
Professional artists, who live in North Texas, with the ability to design and fabricate a large scale mural are encouraged to respond to this Request for Qualifications.
