Digitization Petting Zoo at UNT Libraries

Digi Petting ZooUNT Libraries, in cooperation with IImage Retrieval, is hosting a Digitization Petting Zoo where faculty and faculty with selected grad students will use high resolution planetary/book scanners, microfilm scanners, and various imaging software.

Schedule:

  • 10:00–10:30am
    Check in and have coffee
  • 10:30–12:30pm
    Petting Zoo - receive hands on demonstrations, and browse our equipment and software
  • 11:30am & 2:00pm
    Optional 1-hour technical workshops about FADGI standards and production post-processing
  • 12:30–2:00pm
    Lunch Break Presentations on Digital Imaging Standards, Digital Preservation and Archiving Methods
  • 2:00–4:00pm
    Petting Zoo - receive hands on demonstrations, and browse our equipment and software.

Imaging experts will be available to help you scan personal materials and provide USB drives to capture your images. Lunch will be catered by UNT for attendees who RSVP. Guided tours of the Digital Libraries' labs will be available.
