Call for Papers: UAB/UA Art History Graduate Student Symposium

UAB College of Arts & Sciences logo23rd Annual Graduate Student Symposium in Art History Call for Papers

The Art History faculty at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the University of Alabama invite art history students in regional Master’s programs to submit proposals to our Art History Graduate Student Symposium to be held at UAB on Friday, February 23, 2018. 

Presentations will be limited to 20 minutes and will be followed by discussion. The CFP is attached. Students should submit a 250-word abstract and a one-page c.v. by Monday, January 15, 2018, by e-mail to both Dr. Cathleen Cummings (cathleen@uab.edu) and Dr. Lucy Curzon (lcurzon@ua.edu).

Notification of acceptance will be made by January 22, 2018. Please do not hesitate to contact Dr. Curzon or Dr. Cummings with questions.

The keynote speaker for the Symposium is Dr. Meryl Bailey, and her talk is entitled Returning the Past: Cultural Heritage, Ethics, and the American Museum in the Twenty-First Century.
