Call for Proposals: Medievalists & Early Modernists of North TX and OK
Medievalists and Early Modernists of North Texas and Oklahoma (MEMNTO) First Annual Conference
Saturday, February 25, 2017
Southern Methodist University
Proposals are invited for 10-15 minute presentations by advanced undergraduates on any topic relating to the medieval and early modern periods (for the purposes of this conference, 300 CE to 1650 CE). Presentations from any disciplinary perspective are welcome; pluridisciplinary approaches are especially encouraged.
The MEMNTO Undergraduate Conference provides an opportunity for undergraduate students in medieval and early modern studies, who are often at institutions with few medieval and early modern professors, to experience the diversity of academic approaches to this fascinating period. The conference will foster interaction between students and faculty members in multiple disciplines and from multiple universities in North Texas and Oklahoma, and will include a keynote address by Thomas Hanks, Professor of English at Baylor University.
Potential presenters should be advanced undergraduate students, and should seek the advice and guidance of a professor at their home institution in submitting their proposal and presenting their papers. Proposals should be submitted via this web form, and include a descriptive title and 250 word abstract, by February 3rd.
