Conference Proposals: Medievalist & Early Modernists of North TX & OK (MEMNTO)
On Saturday, February 17, Texas Wesleyan University will host the 2nd Annual MEMNTO conference (Medievalists and Early Modernists of North Texas and Oklahoma). Undergraduate students are invited to apply and help build upon the great success of last year’s inaugural conference at Southern Methodist University. With your help, this conference will continue to be an annual event, initially rotating between Southern Methodist University, Texas Wesleyan University, and the University of Dallas—the University of Dallas has already tentatively scheduled to host in 2019.
The aim is to provide advanced undergraduates interested in medieval and early modern studies an opportunity to meet fellow students with similar interests, and to learn more about the vibrant array of approaches to these periods. Area faculty have already volunteered to host workshops and share ideas so students can benefit from the collective expertise.
Please submit proposals of 250 words via this web link by January 16, 2018. Thanks to generous funding from the History Program and School of Natural and Social Sciences at Texas Wesleyan University, the conference will be offered with no registration fee for participants. It is asked of you, however, that a faculty member at the student’s home institution vet each student submission, and that the faculty member's name be listed as a sponsor on the submission form.
Undergraduate students are encouraged to apply to present at the conference. Please spread the word amongst interested colleagues!
