Application Process for Transfer Students

Transfer students must comply with the prerequisites (or their equivalent) for the program in order to place at an advanced level based on their transfer hours. Those classes are ART 1200 – Art Appreciation, ART 1440 – Design I, ART 1450 – Design II, ART 1500 – Drawing I, ART 1510 – Drawing II and ADES 1550 – Introduction to Fashion Design. All Art classes must be passed with a C or better.

A fashion Design faculty member will evaluate your work from the transfer institution through current transcripts provided by student, course descriptions and physical work that exhibit your skill in Sewing, Design, Patternmaking and Illustration. Through this individual review, they can determine the level of courses appropriate for you to enter the program and be successful. Contact the Program Coordinator for an appointment prior to the deadline posted below.

Be aware that appointments for transfer student review are only conducted in Fall or Spring semesters (not summer).

The following deadlines are for review of work by a fashion design faculty.

  • Fall Semester Start …………… reviewed by March 30
  • Spring Semester Start ………… reviewed by October 30
