Academic Advising

Professional academic advisors are available to meet with CVAD students regarding course selection, degree progress, degree plans and other administrative questions. Faculty advisors are available to assist students with field-related information, such as careers and course substitutions. To inquire about course substitutions, contact the program coordinator for your major. See program coordinator contact information here. To schedule an advising appointment, visit and select an advisor based on your last name. CVAD also has walk-in appointments for brief 10-15 minute sessions available every Wednesday from 8:30-11:30am and 1:00-4:00pm (be advised, there may be a wait time and early cut off time).

Prospective Student Advising Sessions:

If you are thinking about coming to UNT for Art as a freshman or transfer student, you are encouraged to partake in a prospective advising group session to learn about our programs, admission procedures and for other questions you might have. Register for an upcoming session, which also includes a tour (do not register separately for a tour if attending a prospective advising group session).

If interested in a CVAD and/or UNT tour only, sign up at

Prospective students may contact us at with any questions, concerns, or CVAD tour cancellations.

Faculty advisors provide academic advising for graduate students. See your Department for program and contact information.
