About

Areas of Expertise: The intersection of sustainable design, interior design education and practice, and the attitudes and behaviors that lead to sustainable outcomes.

Education and Teaching: She has been teaching at UNT for 20+ years, first as an adjunct faculty member from 2003 to 2004 and then as a full-time faculty member in 2005. She earned an M.F.A. in Interior Design from UNT in 1991, a B.F.A. in Interior Design in 1981, and a B.A. in education and sociology from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, in 1973. 

Academic focus: Current research activities include examining sustainable design and materials, applicable pedagogy models, teaching and learning strategies, and the implications for multidisciplinary curriculum development.

Practice notes: She is a registered interior designer in the State of Texas since 1993, accredited by the Council for Interior Design Qualification since 1985, and has over 20 years of commercial project experience, including interior and architectural firms, furnishings dealerships, public school program assessment and commercial textile design and sales.
