Tracee W. Robertson
Director and Curator
As the UNT Galleries Director and Curator, Tracee Robertson leads the contemporary art exhibition program at the University of North Texas, through the College of Visual Arts and Design (CVAD), including four galleries and a robust program of curated and traveling exhibitions. In addition, Robertson co-directs the UNT Art in Public Places Program, coordinating acquisitions and placements of artworks on campus through donations and a Percent for Art Program.
In 2012, Robertson organized a new, collaborative performance piece, titled Heard, by Nick Cave, performed at UNT and the Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas, Texas. Robertson has curated numerous exhibitions in the UNT Art Gallery, including a major installation by Guggenheim Fellow Jill Downen. Prior to UNT, Robertson organized solo exhibitions by Georgeanne Deen, David Row, Douglas Bourgeois, Scott Barber, Pamela Joseph and the collective Superflex. With more than a decade of experience in the contemporary art field, Robertson was named Director of the UNT Galleries in 2007. Tracee Robertson earned her M.A. in Curatorial Studies of Contemporary Art from Bard College in Annandale, New York.
